Toby Perkins MP with Brampton Primary School's Year 6 Class

Toby Perkins spent an hour with Brampton Primary’s Year 6 pupils, talking about the role of an MP, the workings of Parliament and why it’s important. He then took a range of challenging questions from the eager students on issues ranging from the economy and international relations to what he does in his free time.

Mr Perkins said: “The bright and challenging questions our young people come up with never ceases to amaze me.

“I was really impressed by the pupils’ knowledge of current affairs and their keenness to learn about politics.”

Mr Perkins added: “Hopefully we’ll see a face from Brampton Primary School on the Commons’ green leather benches in a few years time!”
