I know many people are getting anxious about the lack of vaccinations in Chesterfield- I am too. I am chasing this very very regularly.
The Winding Wheel centre opened today, but I and others have raised concerns about the suitability of that venue for over 80s in terms of access.
A new over 80s site will be operating at Wheatbridge from Saturday and I’m told that Chesterfield over 80s will also be getting more appointments at Dronfield in meantime.
There are lots of areas ahead of us, but it is clear that there are some areas that haven’t even got their centre identified yet. My next meeting on this is on Friday and I will continue to push for the logistics to be sorted. The shortage of vaccines is also an issue.
It is a bureaucratic process getting a site approved by NHS England and I know that many share my view that the Football stadium or Casa Hotel would have been better venues, they are being investigated by the CCG and I understand that pharmacies are in talks with Casa too.
We also need to hear that there will be a site in Staveley too and I will keep pushing on that.
I am on top of this, but I am not satisfied that it’s all perfect yet by any means.
