Chesterfield MP, Toby Perkins MP, has today highlighted the anger of constituents at the new revelations of parties and gatherings at Number 10 Downing Street.

The recent email that was revealed by ITV News on the invite to a ‘gathering’ in the garden that would ‘make the most of the lovely weather’ with a ‘bring your own booze party’.

Toby asked a question to the Prime Minister at today’s PMQs which asked that “we all know the Prime Minister was sacked from two previous jobs for lying, so why does he believe that the office of Prime Minister can be held to a lower standard than those previous jobs?”

It comes as allegations followed other gatherings in the garden with the Prime Minister photographed with cheese and wine.

Toby said, “This is a clear example of this Government making one rule for them and one rule for the rest of us. I have been overwhelmed with letters and emails from people in Chesterfield who made the difficult sacrifice to stay at home or were unable to see friends or family.”

He added; “I have had emails from constituents who have lost their mother when these parties were alleged to have taken place or that were unable to visit their mither with dementia and who forgot who they are. This is all at the time that the Prime Minister was drinking wine with staff in the Number 10 garden”.

“The Prime Minister must do the decent thing and resign.”
