After over three years in the position as Shadow Minister for Skills and Further Education, Toby is undertaking a new challenge working in the Shadow DEFRA Department as the Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs.

Toby brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role, both speaking up in Parliament against climate change and locally, previously becoming involved in Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s campaign against the badger cull to advocate for vaccination as a humane alternative to culling.

Toby stated “I’m pleased that the Party have set out what measures a future Labour government would take to tackle climate change and ensure a green economy”.

After thanking his friends and colleagues, Toby tweeted that he “looks forward to a fresh challenge, joining Steve Reed, Daniel Zeichner, Emma Hardy and Liz Twist in the Shadow DEFRA Team”.
