It was another busy week both in Parliament and up in Chesterfield.
Here is my snapshot of last week.

Transcript

Here’s my summary on the latest week in Parliament and back home in Chesterfield.

I spoke in the Opposition Day Debate about the National Insurance contribution increase that will lead to more money for the National Health Service.

I went to visit Brightwell, a pension company who employ over 120 people in Chesterfield.

I spoke at the launch of a new Woodland Trust report into the value of natural capital.

The Environmental Audit Committee is also doing a review into natural capital. I chaired the latest meeting, interviewing witnesses that are experts in this field.

This week was Small Business Saturday. I visited Adorn, the Jewellers on the Shambles in Chesterfield ahead of promoting small businesses right across the Town.

I attended the latest meeting of the Staveley Town Deal Board, looking at how we can make sure the £25 million that we have got from Central Government maximises its value for Staveley.

I also visited the British Heart Foundation shop in Chesterfield to meet their volunteers and Managers and learn, not just about the charity, but also about how they help people on the path towards getting employment.

I was at the opening of the new canal bridge over the Chesterfield Canal in Staveley where children riding from Hollingwood School were the very first cyclists over the bridge.

and I attended the Christmas Market at Holme Hall Inn, the pub makes a huge community contribution and that’s why I’m nominating them as Chesterfield’s entry to the National Community Pub Award.

I hope you find this review of the week interesting and see you again next week.
