Toby Perkins MP Standing up for Chesterfield and Staveley
Another busy week in Parliament and Chesterfield.
Here is just a little of what I got up to.
Transcript
So, in just 90 seconds, here’s what I have been up to this week.
I asked the Aviation Minister about the environmental safeguards that the Government will put in place with regard to expansion of Heathrow and other airports.
I went to an event with Derbyshire manufacturer, Rolls Royce to see about the contribution that they make to our submarines to keep Britain safe on the global stage and I went to the Apprenticeships APPG, which I Co-Chair to hear from the new CEO of Skills England, the Government’s new skills body.
I met with GPs and pharmacists at a future of Primary Care event in Parliament.
I also attended the latest meeting of the Environmental Audit Committee where we quizzed stake holders and academics for our Governing the Marine Environment enquiry.
It was Nuclear Week, and we had a Nuclear Week event in Parliament where we met a raft of different apprentices who are doing their apprenticeship in the nuclear industry.
I went to Hebden Bridge, in West Yorkshire, to meet with volunteers on the Slow the Flow programme that has a natural response to flood risks in West Yorkshire.
I went to Chesterfield manufacturer, Grunwerg, to discuss their business and the challenges facing them and I met with Headteachers and other Members of Parliament across Derbyshire to discuss the Special Needs provision in Derbyshire and the recent, very damaging OFSTED report.
Thanks for watching. See you next week.
